Oracle Oak Nursery is a family-owned wholesale tree nursery located in Hopland, California, in southern Mendocino County. We specialize in growing high-quality California native oak trees, and have been serving landscapers, municipalities, vineyards, developers, and homeowners throughout Northern California since 2011.

California Native Oaks — Our Specialty

We grow a wide selection of California native oak species, including Valley Oak (Quercus lobata), Coast Live Oak (Q. agrifolia), Blue Oak (Q. douglasii), Black Oak (Q. kelloggii), Interior Live Oak (Q. wislizeni), Canyon Live Oak (Q. chrysolepis), Oregon White Oak (Q. garryana), Island Oak (Q. tomentella), and Oracle Oak (Q. × morehus). We also carry Cork Oak, Italian Oak, Emerald Sunshine Elm, and select California native species including Coast Redwood, California Buckeye, and Ponderosa Pine.

Our trees are available in multiple stock types to suit your project: 15-gallon containers, 24-inch boxes, 36-inch boxes, and field-grown 24-inch fabric bags with trunk diameters ranging from 1.5 to 3.5 inches.

Need specific species, sizes, or quantities on a timeline? Our contract growing program lets you order custom-grown trees to your exact specifications. We’ve grown trees for projects ranging from city street plantings to large-scale habitat restoration.

Expert Knowledge

Our nursery is owned by Larry Costello, a retired University of California Cooperative Extension advisor with over 33 years of experience in the green industry. Larry co-authored Oaks in the Urban Landscape: Selection, Care and Preservation and brings research-backed expertise to every tree we grow.
